There are a lot people in the house at the moment, which is normal for an 8 bed shared student house. But more so than normal. The company that we rent off own 2 houses on this small road, however the company haven't been paying the gas bill for the other house so the gas company have cut them off. So we are sharing our kitchen until the company pull their fingers out and pay their gas bill. It's not the fault on the tenants because bills are included, so it's pretty shit really. The lads over the road are cool, they were like "hope you don't mind us using your kitchen". I joked with them and said "as long as we can come over when we loose our electricity".
Today is the 20th of September 2010 and the start of the academic year at my university, so I got onto the hour long train journey to my university at some unpleasantly early time in the morning. I arrived at my university to find it open but eerily quite. It was like something out of a thriller, everything was normal, all the computers were on but no-one was there. It was like the Mary Celeste but a crappy university instead of a boat. I thought I might have inadvertently walked into a quarantine zone or Bolton had been evacuated because of an incoming nuclear missile or something, turns out that I wasn't due in until the following week. Although the university was open it was only open for new students to enrol, teaching wouldn't start until the following week, as clearly stated on my timetable that I didn't read properly. Luckily no-one was there is see how stupid I was.
Anyway, I have had an eventful weekend. I went to a Singles party Friday night and I went out for my new house mate's birthday on Saturday Night. Both really eventful nights, but there is too much to write about on this blog. I will post them on tomorrow's and Wednesday's blog because I don't usually do anything worth talking about during the week. I might update my Youtube channel as well this week, you can find it here at: http://www.youtube.com/user/TakingTheMike
good luck with uni! xxx
